Biography:
Christopher Lowell was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. He studied photography at the University of Southern California and later at the New School. His first show, Rendering the Ordinary Extraordinary (2007), debuted at the Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles. His work has also been shown periodically at Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta.
Lowell has taken photographs for several non-profit organizations including “Project Medishare” in rural Haiti, and “Invisible Children” in Uganda and Rwanda. His work is included in both the Sovereign Collection in Atlanta and the Elton John Collection. In 2010, Lowell co-hosted Photo LA alongside David LaChapelle. Later that year his show, The Dreamers, opened at the Stephen Cohen Gallery in Los Angeles. His solo show 31 Days garnered great reviews and publicity during the summer of 2014 at Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta.
In addition to photography, Lowell has worked as an actor and writer. His film credits include “The Help” and “Up In The Air.” He appeared for three seasons on ABC’s “Private Practice.” His poems and short stories have been published in 12th Street Magazine.
